Do you ever think about your habits?

Like the Algorithms would have it (yes Im writing it with a capital A, as it has mind of it's own) I have been seeing quite a lot of information about cold showers and cold plunge. I have done my own research on it so that is probably where it got started. Ive ended my warm showers with "as cold as possible" water for about 2 years now, and absolutely believe in it.

This got me thinking that your social media habits can be either foster good or bad habits. The more you see the temptations the more that is what you will see. It is not divine intervention telling you to enjoy your life (well you should want to do that as well) but it is by design. By Algorithm design. I will use this to my advantage.

I have been on a personal journey of self development for the last 7 years. And thus seeing and researching things like cold plunge is very normal to me.

Other than that I recently started listening to a new audio book Atomic Habits.

This got me thinking, instead of just buying a cold plunge for the yard, let's think about how I will implement it first. Will I really use it? And obviously not a lot of people wake up and think "Yes, I want to submerge myself in icy water when it is 6C outside" Well certainly not me. Meaning I need to set myself up for success. I think to think about I will integrate this to my life.

If you want to know more about habit formation and what atomic habits are... here is another article I wrote about creating habits and cold plunge.

But here is my plan...

Every morning when I come down stairs to let Zoey out and make coffee I will get everything ready for coffee and do a cold plunge while I wait for the kettle to boil. This means it is first thing, I will not need to really do anything new, I just need to slot this new habit it.

So obviously I had to test it. Here is the time it took for the kettle to boil and make my cup of coffee...

Do you think it is enough time?
